Terms of Use

Last updated: 23 August 2026

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Appentwicklung René Weinhold, Merlinweg 14, 44229 Dortmund, Germany ("we", "us"), covering Paddock, our logic puzzle game for iPhone and iPad (bundle identifier com.weinhold.paddock). By downloading or playing the game you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the game.

Your privacy is covered separately, in our Privacy Policy.

Your licence to play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Paddock on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment, in line with Apple's App Store terms.

You are buying a licence to play, not the game itself. The licence is yours and does not travel: you may not sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise transfer it to someone else.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • copy, modify, translate or create derivative works from the game, or reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction;
  • remove or obscure any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice;
  • use cheats, automation, modified clients or other tools to interfere with how the game works, with in-app purchases, or with advertising;
  • redistribute the game or its assets, or offer it as part of another product or service;
  • use the game for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other players or us.

Purchases and subscriptions

The game shows advertising. Premium removes it and unlocks the extras described in the app.

  • Apple bills you, not us. All purchases are made through the App Store and charged to your Apple Account. We never see or handle your payment details.
  • Premium is offered as a subscription, which renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. A one-time Lifetime purchase is also available for players who would rather not subscribe.
  • Managing and cancelling happens in your Apple Account settings, under Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • If you buy Lifetime while a subscription is running, cancel the subscription yourself so you are not billed for both. The app will tell you when it sees this situation.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple. We cannot issue them. Request one through Apple's own process at reportaproblem.apple.com. Any statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation you have under consumer law is unaffected by this.
  • Restoring. If you reinstall the game or move to a new device, use the restore option in the app to bring back purchases made with the same Apple Account.
  • Prices are shown in the App Store before you confirm, in your local currency including any applicable taxes, and may change over time. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase you have already made.

Clover and other in-game items

Clover and anything else you earn inside Paddock is part of the game, not property and not money. Clover is earned by playing and cannot be bought — there is no way to top it up with real money, and we do not sell it. It has no value outside the app, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred or sold. Watching a rewarded video is always your choice, and never something you have to do in order to keep playing.

Advertising

Unless you have Premium, the game shows advertising supplied by third parties. We do not control the content of individual ads and are not responsible for the products or services they promote. Premium removes advertising from the game. How advertising relates to your data — and how to change your choices about it — is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Ownership

Paddock, its name, its code, its puzzles, its artwork, its animations, its sounds and everything else that makes it what it is belong to Appentwicklung René Weinhold or our licensors, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you beyond the licence described above.

You are welcome to share screenshots and video of your own play — on social media, in a stream, in a review — as long as you do not present the game as your own work.

Availability and changes

We would like the game to be available and working all the time, but we cannot promise it. Features may be added, changed or retired, and parts of the game depend on services we do not run, including the App Store and iCloud. We may update or discontinue the game, and we will try to give reasonable notice of anything that would meaningfully affect a purchase you have made.

Keeping your device and iOS up to date is your side of this: we support recent versions of iOS, and older ones may stop working over time.

Your progress

Your progress is stored on your device and mirrored to your own iCloud. Please treat your device backups as the safety net they are — we hold no copy of your progress and cannot restore it if it is lost, for example after deleting the app with iCloud sync turned off.

Disclaimer

Paddock is provided as it is. We have taken care to make it work well, but we cannot promise that it will be free of errors, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose of yours, and to the extent the law allows we exclude implied warranties to that effect. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.

Limitation of liability

We are liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost time arising from your use of the game, and our total liability for any claim relating to the game is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Ending the agreement

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the app; cancel any subscription separately in your Apple Account settings. We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. The sections on ownership, disclaimer, liability and governing law survive the end of the agreement.

Apple

This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the game or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the game. If the game fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the game. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of Dortmund, Germany have jurisdiction over any dispute, so far as the law permits. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game changes. The current version always lives on this page, with the date at the top. If a change is material we will make it visible in the app or on the website rather than relying on you to notice, and continuing to play after that means you accept the updated terms.
